A few of my thoughts on the state of things today as I sit in Ontario May 28, 2009.
First I find the constant back and forth bickering between the Liberals and the Conservatives aggravating. While Harper and his ilk are not perfect, they were elected by the democratic process. I do not claim to be a political expert by any means but it seems to me the Liberals are constantly whining. They want money for this and money for that, they want the auto industry bailed out.
When the money is spent they complain about the deficit. Where do they think the money comes from? We have subsidized the auto sector for years.
They have had an artificially high pay scale and now must snap back into reality. Now we are asked to pay more tax dollars to save their pensions. If their union leaders had not been so greedy perhaps they would not be in this position today.
I know I am rambling now.
I am tired of being taxed and taxed and taxed.
Now I am being told that the new harmonized tax will reap me great benefits. As a member of the middle class with no need for the things that are exempt from this new tax increase, all I know is my gas and hydro bills will cost me $400/$600 more every year. For this I get a one time $1000 payment? It is just not right. The middle class pays the tab for everything.
Back to the liberals . Their hatred of Harper just blinds them. I seem to remember that King Jean was no picnic and Canadians just kept electing him. He won twice promising to cut taxes which he never did.
He stole our tax dollars and channeled them to his cronies.
He ran Canada quite often from his Florida condo fax machine.
Do the Liberals think I am stupid and forgetful?
Well......... have a few errands to run just thought I would vent a bit today.
